"Greenwood posed difficulties for us," - Antoine Griezmann.

Mason Greenwood, on loan to Getafe from Manchester United, is poised for a major transfer opportunity after his stint with the Spanish team concludes. The 22-year-old forward, initially set to rejoin Manchester United's main squad in the summer, was loaned to Getafe for a season following a largely adverse reaction from the United camp, leading to a temporary split.

Greenwood initially faced challenges in making an impact in Spain. Nonetheless, Getafe's coach Javier Vidal put Greenwood on an intensive fitness regime, as per the Daily Mail. This approach was aimed at progressively improving Greenwood's game, which evidently started paying off by mid-season.

Greenwood has been crucial in recent matches. His goal and assist were key in Getafe's 3-0 triumph over Sevilla, followed by an outstanding 'man of the match' performance against Atletico Madrid. His efforts were central to Getafe's rally from a 3-1 trail to a 3-3 draw, significantly disrupting Atletico's defense.

After the match, Antoine Griezmann of Atletico highlighted Greenwood's impact, stating, "Mason Greenwood really posed a challenge for us in the second half. We struggled to hold him back, and it influenced the game's result."

Despite Greenwood's loan to Getafe not having a buyout clause, the club is showing an interest in signing him permanently after this season's end.
